Privacy Policy
Last updated October 17, 2026
Kids in the Kitchen, LLC (“KITK,” “we,” or “us”) respects the privacy of the families and schools we work with. Our website is intended for parents, guardians, and school and camp staff. This policy explains what information we collect through this website and when you contact us, how we use it, and the choices you have. It does not cover the registration or payment systems run by schools or other program hosts, or social media sites we link to; their own policies apply there.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you send us a form, email, or call, we collect what you choose to share. Our school form asks for your name, role, email, phone (optional), school or organization, program interest, grades or ages, approximate number of students, preferred start time, and your message. Our family form asks for your name, email, and question, and optionally your child’s school and grade or age. We do not ask for your child’s name. Please don’t include medical, allergy, or other sensitive details in a website form; we collect what we need to keep your child safe through program registration. If you choose to share such details with us anyway, you consent to our using them only to answer you and keep your child safe.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our site receives basic technical information when you visit, such as your browser and device type, the pages you view, the site that referred you, and your approximate location (country or region) derived from your IP address. We use privacy-friendly analytics that count visits without advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. With a form submission we also record the page it came from, your browser type, and your country, which helps us block spam. We do not allow third parties to track visitors across other websites through our site.
Cookies. Our site sets one small cookie that tells our form system a real browser loaded the page, which helps block automated spam. It holds only a timestamp and expires when you close your browser. We do not use advertising, social media, or cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use information
- To answer your questions and inquiries, and to plan, schedule, and run programs with schools, camps, and families.
- To keep our website working, secure, and free of spam and abuse.
- To understand which pages are useful so we can improve the site.
- To comply with the law and protect the safety and rights of children, families, our staff, and others.
We do not sell personal information, share it for targeted advertising, collect, use, or sell it to train large language models, or use it to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on anyone.
How we share information
- Service providers who host our website, store and deliver form messages, send email, filter spam (including with automated AI tools), and provide analytics. We share only what they need to provide those services to us.
- Schools and program hosts, when needed to answer your question or arrange a program you asked about at that school or location.
- Legal and safety reasons, when required by law or legal process, or when we believe in good faith that sharing is needed to protect a child’s safety or anyone’s rights.
- Business changes, such as a merger or sale of our business, in which case this policy continues to apply to the information transferred.
Children’s privacy
Our website is intended for parents, guardians, and school and camp staff. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through this site, please contact us and we will delete it.
Photos and videos of our classes
We share photos and videos from our classes only with permission, and this website never names the children shown. If you would like a photo or video of your child removed from our website or social media, email us and we will remove it promptly. We cannot recall copies that others have already shared.
How long we keep information
We keep messages and inquiries for as long as we need them to respond, run our programs, and keep reasonable business records, and then delete them. Messages identified as spam are deleted automatically within 30 days.
How we protect information
Our site uses encrypted HTTPS connections, and we limit access to messages to the people who need them. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, so please don’t send us anything you consider highly sensitive through the website.
Your choices and rights
You may ask us to confirm whether we hold personal information about you, to give you a copy, to correct it, or to delete it. You may also opt out of the sale of personal information, targeted advertising, and profiling, although we do not do any of these. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever you live, and we will not treat you differently for making one. A parent or guardian, or someone legally authorized to act for you, may make a request on your behalf.
To make a request, email [email protected] or call (203) 900-7807. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within 45 days. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with “Appeal” in the subject line; we will answer within 60 days. If you are not satisfied, Connecticut residents may contact the Connecticut Attorney General.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We do not track visitors across other websites. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a request to opt out of any sale or targeted advertising.
Email. If we ever send you marketing email, it will include a link to unsubscribe at any time. We will still reply to messages you send us.
Links to other sites
Our site links to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Google, and other sites we do not control. Their privacy practices are their own, so please review their policies when you visit them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If a material change affects information we already hold, we will notify the people affected and ask for their consent where the law requires it.
