What Children Learn

Each class is thoughtfully designed to support early childhood development through hands-on cooking activities that encourage:

  • Fine motor skills through pouring, scooping, stirring, and measuring
  • Following step-by-step directions
  • Early math and science concepts
  • Teamwork and sharing
  • Independence and self-confidence
  • Trying new foods in a positive environment

How Our Program Works

  • 45-minute classes held right in your classroom
  • No kitchen required
  • We bring all ingredients, equipment, and supplies
  • Safe tabletop convection ovens operated only by our instructor
  • Fully instructor-led from start to finish
  • Clean, organized, and age-appropriate activities designed specifically for preschoolers

Easy for Your School

We Handle the Details. You Enjoy the Learning.

Our instructors bring the ingredients, equipment, and structured lessons—and manage setup and cleanup—so school staff can focus on supporting students.

Families Love It

Parents enjoy seeing their children develop confidence and practical life skills while having fun.

Each participating child receives:

  • A KITK apron
  • A digital family cookbook featuring recipes made during the session

These take-home items help extend the learning beyond the classroom and encourage family involvement.

Cathy McCarthy, Owner and Director of Kids in the Kitchen

“Kids in the Kitchen was created to help children learn by doing. Through cooking, students practice teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills they can use beyond the kitchen.”
